The Story
The prison was constructed in 1872, running as a Territorial Prison until 1890 when Wyoming became a state. In 1890, the facility was reorganized as the Wyoming State Penitentiary. For 30 years, the building held notorious outlaws like Butch Cassidy, Dan Parker, Clark “the Kid” Pelton, and Ellijah Canary. Over 1,000 men and 12 women of various nationalities, religious backgrounds and occupations passed through the iron grate doors.

Inmates were transferred to a new facility in Rawlins, Wyoming in the summer of 1903 and the old prison became an experiment station for the University of Wyoming College of Agriculture. The University of Wyoming ran the facility as an experimental farm until 1989 when a group of Laramie citizens rallied to have the building restored.

This place is said to be haunted by Julius Greenwald, who succumbed to heart failure in 1901. Greenwald had been a cigar maker from Poland who was incarcerated over the murder of his wife, Jennie in Evanston, Wyoming in 1897. During his stay in the Wyoming Territorial Prison, Greenwald was allowed to continue making cigars, which he sold to his fellow inmates. Greenwald is notable because it is commonly believed today that he is responsible for the strange encounters that still occur in the prison's walls to this day.

The Investigation
Investigators who used psychic ability were all in agreement that Julius is indeed the haunt here.  Only him and one other male was felt.  It was also their impression that Julius was innocent of the charges he was jailed for.

EMF regular range here was around 650, but all around Julius' old cell and his very large photograph it spiked upwards to around 2k.
